Frequently Asked Questions!
Can I bring my pet to my sitting?
Yes. Just make sure to tell us ahead of time
What do you charge per hour?
Generally, if it isn’t a specific type of sitting or event package like a wedding, we charge $60 an hour for the photographer’s time. If lights and backdrop are needed, then the total per hour goes up to$110.
I can’t decide between outside and inside sitting, can I do both?
You may choose to do both, however, they will be billed as separate sittings whether or not you are doing them back to back or at different times.
I want to do an outdoor sitting but I don’t know where to go. Can you suggest any place?
One popular place is Freestone park at Elliot and Lindsay because it has trees, grass a lake and waterfall as well as a bridge. People also have chosen Val Vista Lakes, Power Ranch park (has a lake) or the local park near your house. Green grass always makes a beautiful background for your picture. If you want more options we would be happy to discuss your picture taking needs.
What do I wear?
Avoid busy or plaid patterns on shirts as they draw attention away
from subjects faces. Simple, dark colors are best for portraits. Dark
colors tend to make subjects slimmer. Lighter colors add weight. Long
sleeves keep the attention on subjects faces. Occasionally portraits are
made with the subjects barefoot. This is always an option, and will lend
a closer atmosphere to the portrait.
As a general rule, consistent color choices will unite families
therefore make wardrobe decisions based on one or two colors. For
casual pictures, jeans are perfectly acceptable. For more formal pictures,
wear khakis or other more formal clothes.
Gentlemen should be freshly shaved. Stubble can appear as dirt.
Ladies should do their hair and makeup as they normally do.
Perhaps add a bit more makeup around the eyes to help define them, but
nothing extraordinary. You should be recognizable in your portrait!
Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. Ladies, one pair of simple
earrings is sufficient. When it comes to glasses, it is best to make
portraits without them. However, some family members are not
recognizable without their glasses. See if your optometrist will lend you
a pair of frames for your portraits.
